Corrections & Retractions Policy

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error does not compromise the overall validity or conclusions of the research but requires amendment to ensure the accuracy of the published record. Corrections may involve typographical errors, author affiliations, article metadata, tables, figures, references, or other information that does not alter the scientific findings.

• Correction requests may be submitted by authors, editors, reviewers, or readers.
• The Editorial Board will evaluate all correction requests before publication.
• Published corrections will be permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency.

Article Withdrawal

Manuscripts may be withdrawn only before formal publication. Authors requesting withdrawal must provide a clear and justifiable explanation to the Editorial Office.

• Manuscripts undergoing peer review or production cannot be withdrawn without editorial approval.
• All withdrawal requests are evaluated objectively by the Editorial Board.
• Withdrawal requests submitted after substantial editorial processing may be subject to the journal's withdrawal policy.

Retractions

A retraction may be issued when serious ethical or scientific issues compromise the integrity, validity, or reliability of a published article. Retractions are intended to correct the scholarly record while maintaining transparency for readers.

Retraction may be considered in cases involving:

• Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
• Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.
• Research or publication ethics violations.
• Serious errors that invalidate the research findings.
• Copyright infringement or other legal violations.

Retracted articles will remain accessible as part of the permanent scholarly record but will be clearly identified as retracted, together with the reason for retraction.

Expression of Concern

In situations where an investigation is ongoing and sufficient evidence has not yet been obtained to reach a final decision, the Editor may publish an Expression of Concern. This notice informs readers that questions have been raised regarding the integrity or validity of a published article while the investigation remains in progress.

Editorial Process

All requests for corrections, withdrawals, expressions of concern, or retractions are assessed objectively based on the available evidence. When appropriate, the Editorial Board may consult reviewers, authors, institutional representatives, or other relevant parties to ensure that decisions are fair, transparent, and consistent with international publication ethics standards.

Compliance with Publication Ethics

This policy follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally accepted best practices for scholarly publishing. It is implemented to preserve the quality, credibility, transparency, and trustworthiness of all articles published by JINEA: Journal of Innovation in Education and Learning.
