Plagiarism Policy

JINEA: Journal of Innovation in Education and Learning is committed to maintaining academic integrity and upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts must be original works, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal. Any form of plagiarism—including direct plagiarism, partial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or inappropriate self-plagiarism—is unacceptable.

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo a similarity screening using recognized plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or equivalent tools. Similarity checking is conducted before peer review and may also be repeated during the editorial process when necessary.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.
References, properly quoted text, and standard methodological descriptions may be excluded from the editorial interpretation of the similarity report.
Editors evaluate similarity reports based on both the percentage and the nature of the matched content.

Unacceptable Forms of Plagiarism

Copying all or part of another person's work without proper attribution.
Using ideas, data, figures, tables, or research findings without appropriate citation.
Submitting or publishing the same or substantially similar work in more than one journal without proper disclosure.
Excessive self-plagiarism through the reuse of substantial portions of previously published work without appropriate citation.
Manipulating references or providing misleading citations.

Editorial Actions

When plagiarism is suspected, the Editorial Board will investigate the case in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the severity of the violation, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

Request clarification or revision from the author(s).
Reject the manuscript before or after peer review.
Suspend the publication process if misconduct is identified before publication.
Retract a published article if plagiarism is discovered after publication.
Notify the author's institution when serious publication misconduct is confirmed.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are entirely original and that all sources are properly cited in accordance with accepted academic standards. Authors are also encouraged to perform their own similarity check before submitting their manuscripts.
