Author Guidelines
General Guidelines
- Manuscripts must be original work, not previously published, and not under review elsewhere.
- Manuscripts should be written in clear and proper English.
- Manuscripts must be relevant to the focus and scope of SMARTH: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning, covering research, theoretical/conceptual studies, and scholarly reflections in mathematics education.
Accepted Manuscript Types
- Original research articles
- Development of learning media/models
- Systematic literature reviews
- Innovative and contextual conceptual or theoretical studies
Manuscript Structure
- Title: Concise, clear, informative (max 14 words) reflecting the article content.
- Author Name and Affiliation: Full name (without degree), institution (department, faculty, university), and correspondence email.
- Abstract and Keywords: Written in English (200–250 words), including rationale, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusion; 3–5 relevant keywords.
- Introduction: Background, problem statement, brief literature review, research objectives; max 700 words.
- Methods: Description of approach, research design, subjects, data collection, and analysis techniques.
- Results and Discussion: Presented systematically with interpretation and relation to theory or previous studies; highlight novelty.
- Conclusion: Summary of key findings, practical/theoretical implications, and suggestions for further research.
- References: APA 7 style; minimum 80% primary sources from the last 10 years; at least 10 accredited journals and 5 reputable journals.
Manuscript Format
- Submitted as Word file (.doc or .docx).
- Length: Max 5,000 words .
- A4 paper, margins: 3–3–2.5–2.5 cm.
- 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman 12 pt.
- Tables and figures must be numbered, titled, and sourced (if applicable).
Publication Ethics
Authors must ensure manuscripts are plagiarism-free, not submitted elsewhere simultaneously, and properly attribute all contributions. All manuscripts undergo similarity checks and double-blind peer review.
Submission Procedure
Manuscripts are submitted via OJS (Open Journal System) SMARTH: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning: Submissions. Authors must register and log in before uploading manuscripts.
Copyright and License
Authors of accepted articles grant publication rights to SMARTH under an open license (CC BY-SA or according to journal policy).
Additional Notes
- Articles must follow IMRaD structure.
- Word count: Max 5,000 words.
- Use the provided journal template.
- Cite recent references (last 10 years) with minimum 15 scholarly sources.
- Use APA 7th edition citation style.
- Manuscripts must be submitted through OJS (not email).
Note: Authors will undergo initial screening, peer review, and revisions if necessary.
