SMARTH: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning is committed to preserving the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors, ethical concerns, or misleading information are identified after publication, the journal will take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally accepted publishing practices.

Corrections

Corrections may be published when errors do not affect the overall validity of the research but require amendment to maintain the accuracy of the published record.

• Correction requests may be submitted by authors, editors, reviewers, or readers.
• Editors evaluate each request before publication.
• Published corrections are permanently linked to the original article.
• Correction notices remain openly accessible.

Article Withdrawal

Withdrawal is only permitted before formal publication. Authors must provide a justified written request, and withdrawal remains subject to editorial approval.

• Manuscripts under review or production cannot be withdrawn unilaterally.
• Editors assess all withdrawal requests on a case-by-case basis.
• Late withdrawal after substantial editorial work may be subject to journal policies.

Retractions

Retractions are issued when serious issues compromise the validity or integrity of published work.

• Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
• Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.
• Serious ethical violations.
• Major errors invalidating research findings.
• Copyright infringement or legal violations.

Retracted articles remain part of the scholarly record but are clearly marked as retracted together with the reason for retraction.

Expression of Concern

Editors may publish an Expression of Concern while an investigation is ongoing if there are reasonable concerns regarding the integrity or validity of a published article.

Editorial Process

All requests for corrections, withdrawals, or retractions are reviewed objectively based on available evidence. Editors may consult reviewers, authors' institutions, or other relevant parties before reaching a final decision.

Publication Ethics

This policy follows COPE recommendations and supports transparency, accountability, and trust in scholarly publishing.
