Repository Policy (Self-Archiving Policy)

SMARTH: Journal of Mathematics Education and Learning supports the principles of Open Access and encourages authors to maximize the dissemination of their research through institutional, disciplinary, and other trusted scholarly repositories. Authors are permitted to archive and share their work while preserving the integrity of the published scholarly record.

This policy aims to increase the visibility, accessibility, academic impact, and citation of articles published in SMARTH while respecting authors' copyright and the journal's first publication rights.

Versions That May Be Archived

• Preprint – the manuscript before peer review.
• Accepted Manuscript (Postprint) – the peer-reviewed manuscript after revisions but before publisher formatting.
• Version of Record (Publisher's Version) – the final published article.

Permitted Repositories

• Institutional repositories.
• Subject-based and national repositories.
• Authors' personal or professional websites.
• Academic profile services such as ORCID, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Academia.edu.
• Other trusted scholarly repositories relevant to mathematics education.

Archiving Requirements

• Include the complete citation of the published article.
• Include the article DOI whenever available.
• Preserve all publication information, including journal title, authors, and source.
• Do not alter the scientific content of the published work.
• Whenever possible, provide a link to the official journal version.

Embargo Policy

SMARTH does not impose an embargo period. Authors may archive eligible versions of their manuscripts immediately upon publication.

Copyright and License

All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license, allowing sharing and adaptation with appropriate attribution and the same license for derivative works.
